Privacy Policy

Information we collect

DriftLed does not collect, transmit to the developer, sell, or share personal information.

The app does not require an account or login and does not contain advertising, analytics, or tracking services.

Information stored on your device

DriftLed stores certain settings locally on your device, including:

• The selected connection method
• A Bluetooth authentication secret
• Manual LED-screen designs
• Theme and language preferences
• Demo-mode preference

This information remains on your device and is not transmitted to the developer.

Communication with DriftLed hardware

When connected to a DriftLed controller, the app sends commands, configuration settings, display text, and authentication information directly to that controller over Bluetooth or the controller’s local Wi-Fi network.

These communications do not pass through developer-operated servers or cloud services. The developer cannot access the information exchanged between the app and the controller.

Bluetooth and local network access

DriftLed requests Bluetooth access to discover and communicate with compatible DriftLed controllers.

On Apple devices, the app may request Local Network access to communicate with a controller over its private Wi-Fi network.

These permissions are used only for communicating with DriftLed hardware. They are not used for tracking or determining your physical location.

User-directed sharing

The app allows users to share a Bluetooth authentication secret using the device’s system share sheet. Sharing occurs only when initiated by the user and is handled by the service selected by the user. DriftLed and its developer do not receive the shared information.

Data retention and deletion

Locally stored app information remains on the device until it is changed, the app’s data is cleared, or the app is uninstalled.

Settings stored on a DriftLed controller remain on that controller until they are changed or the controller is reset.

Third-party services

DriftLed does not include third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking services.

Apple, Google, the device operating system, or a service selected through the system share sheet may process information under their own privacy policies.

Children’s privacy

DriftLed is not directed toward children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if DriftLed’s functionality or data practices change. Updates will be published at this URL with a revised effective date.
